People in Mineola drive for things. You drive to Tyler, you drive to Longview, you have probably driven further than either for something that mattered. So we are going to skip the part where we tell you a commute is possible, and go straight to the part that actually decides this: which schedule survives one, what the online program really covers, and what to check before you hand anybody money.
The schedule question comes before the school question
Mineola to our campus on Gilmer Road in Longview is roughly an hour, give or take, depending on your road and where you are starting from — map your own address, because that is the only number your alarm clock will care about.
Here is what people get wrong: they choose the school first and then try to bolt a schedule onto their life. Do it the other way around. Our in-person classes are daytime, in one of two formats, and the approved hours are Mon/Wed/Fri, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM or Tue/Thu, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM depending on the class. There are no evening, night or Saturday classes.
At an hour out, count trips, not hours. Mon/Wed/Fri is a shorter morning but three round trips a week. Tue/Thu is a longer day but only two. Over twelve weeks that difference is not small, and it is usually the thing that decides whether somebody finishes.
What that means if you are working
Daytime classes and a full-time day job do not overlap gracefully, and we are not going to draw you a diagram pretending they do. Some people make it work by shifting to evenings or weekends at work, some use vacation, some change jobs for twelve weeks, and some decide the timing is wrong this quarter and come back in the spring. All four of those are reasonable. What is not reasonable is signing up for something you already know your schedule cannot hold, which is why it is worth saying out loud now rather than in week three.
If your job is the immovable object, that is exactly the situation the online program exists for. It is self-paced and starts any day.
What online covers, and what it does not
The online program runs the same curriculum on your own clock, from home, with no drive. That is a genuine advantage at your distance and we will not undersell it.
What it is not is physical hands-on training. You are not holding instruments, and nobody is correcting your grip in real time. That is a real difference, not a marketing asterisk — and any school that tells you their online course is identical to being in a room with equipment has just told you what kind of school it is. A decent way to decide: picture yourself six weeks in, tired, on a Tuesday. Which version of this do you still show up for — the one that needs an hour of highway, or the one that needs you to open a laptop after the house goes quiet? Be honest. The answer is usually obvious and usually ignored.
Closer is not automatically better, and neither are we
There are programs nearer to Mineola than we are. We are not going to say a word against any of them — we do not know your life, and a school that spends its energy running down the competition is telling on itself.
What we will say is that proximity is one variable out of about seven, and it is the easiest one to measure, which is why people over-weight it. Class size, who is actually teaching, what equipment you get your hands on, what the credential legally is, whether you can visit before paying — those are harder to check and they matter more. So check them, on us and on everyone else.

Money: why there is no price typed on this page
Deliberately. Tuition and payment plans live in one place on this site so an old blog post can never quote you a number that has since changed — the enrollment page has the current figures, and the tuition planner will run a payment plan against your own budget so you are not doing the math in your head at midnight.
Before you assume the answer is no: Texas Workforce Solutions, WIOA and veterans benefits are all worth asking about. Eligibility is decided by those agencies rather than by any school, so call your local Workforce Solutions office and ask them directly. The funding finder will tell you which door to knock on.
Verify before you pay — including us

Be equally clear on what finishing gets you. A school issues a certificate of completion.
