The drive, honestly

An hour each way, a few days a week, for about twelve weeks. Some people read that and shrug; some people read it and know immediately it won't work. Both reactions are fine and both are useful information.

A few things that make it easier, from people who have done it: check the calendar before you commit and put every class date in your phone at once, so no week surprises you. Find out early whether anyone else from your side of the county is in the cohort — a shared drive changes the math entirely. And decide honestly what the gas and the hours cost you, then set that number next to what the credential is worth, rather than leaving both of them vague.

If your shifts or childcare cannot accommodate the daytime class days, do not force the commitment. Ask about current and later in-person cohorts before paying.

Hands-on training means coming to the room, practicing with equipment, and getting supervised feedback. Choose a start date only after the travel and attendance arrangements are workable.
