That matters more than it sounds like it does. The students who finish are almost never the ones with the most free time. They are the ones whose plan survived a flat tire, a sick kid, and a schedule change at work in the same month. A plan with ninety minutes of highway built into every class day has a lot less room to absorb a bad week than one you can pick up at nine at night.

Online is coursework and software practice. It is not physical hands-on training, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — you are not holding an instrument, and nobody is standing over your shoulder telling you your finger rest is wrong. Anyone who tells you their online course is the same as being in a room with equipment is selling you something.

If you want to be in the room: the drive, plainly

Our in-person classes are daytime, and the cohorts run on one of two formats. The approved class hours are Mon/Wed/Fri, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM or Tue/Thu, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, depending on which class you join. There are no evening, night or Saturday classes — not sometimes, not by request.

From Shelby County, that difference is not a detail, it is the whole decision. A Mon/Wed/Fri class is a shorter morning but three round trips a week. A Tue/Thu class is a longer day but only two. At a long distance, fewer trips usually wins — the highway, not the classroom, is what wears people down. Sit with your own calendar and count the weeks, not the days.
