A letter to the senior who doesn't want to go to college
This one's written straight to you — the senior nodding along when college comes up, feeling a little sick about it, wondering what's wrong with you that everyone else seems excited. Nothing is wrong with you. Sit down for a second; there are things nobody put on the poster in the counselor's office.
First: the feeling is information, not failure
Dreading college doesn't mean you're lazy — laziness doesn't feel like dread; it feels like nothing. Dread means some honest part of you already knows that four more years of classrooms is the wrong container for whatever you've got. That part of you is worth listening to. It's not the whole vote, but it gets a seat at the table.

What to actually do with this
Not nothing — that's the one wrong answer. The move is to replace "not college" (which is just an absence) with a specific something: a credential, a job with a plan attached, a structured year. Ten years from now, nobody will ask where you were the September after graduation. They'll ask what you can do and who you became. Every path in this letter — credential, work-with-a-plan, service, even college later on your own terms — gets you somewhere real. The only path that doesn't is pretending to want the poster version until it breaks you. You're not broken. You're just holding a map nobody bothered to finish drawing for you. Finish it yourself.
