You're not behind. Everyone's timeline is made up.

Scroll for five minutes and the scoreboard appears: someone's graduation, someone's promotion, someone's closing photo with the keys. And the quiet voice says you're behind. Behind what, exactly? Whose schedule? Written where? Let's actually dismantle this thing, because it costs people years.

scoreboard that matters: you vs. you, last month

Where the timeline came from

The "degree by 22, career by 25, house by 30" script was written for an economy that no longer exists, and even then it described averages, not requirements. Today it survives for two reasons: parents repeat the version that worked for them, and social media shows you everyone's single best day in an endless stream. Your feed is not a random sample of reality — it's a highlight reel curated by an algorithm that profits when you feel behind, because feeling behind keeps you scrolling.

The only scoreboard that predicts anything

Direction and motion. Not "where am I vs. my classmates" but "am I pointed somewhere I chose, and did I move this month?" A person taking one real step monthly toward a chosen thing is doing better — measurably, in life outcomes — than a person 'on schedule' in a life they drifted into. The decision method handles the direction part; small wins handle the motion part.

If 'behind' has been the reason you haven't started

Flip it: a 12-week credential is the fastest legal way to change what next year looks like — people who start our program in September are working in a field by winter. The timeline that says you should have done it at 20 is made up. The one where you do it now is real and short. Read starting over at any age, and if healthcare's your direction, the free fit quiz is a ten-minute first motion.
