What is actually on the Texas RDA exam, topic by topic
When people ask what's on the exam, they're usually asking something else underneath: is there anything on there I've never heard of? Almost always, no. The subject areas are the same ones a good assistant uses on an ordinary Tuesday. Here's each one, and what studying it actually looks like.
Before the topics: where the official answers live
We're going to walk the subject matter. We are deliberately not going to tell you how many questions there are, how long you get, what score passes, what it costs, or what happens if you need to sit it again. Those details belong to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners, they change, and a confident blog post quoting last year's version is worse than no post at all.
Before you start studying, spend ten minutes on tsbde.texas.gov and read the current requirements and exam information straight from the source. Ten minutes there is worth more than an hour of forum posts from people who took it in a different year.

How to turn this into a study week
The mistake almost everyone makes is reading everything a little and nothing properly. A week that works looks more like this: pick the two areas you're weakest in and give them real, quiet time early in the week when your head is clear. Give the areas you're solid on a short review later in the week — not to learn them, just to keep them warm.
Then practice under something like real conditions at least once. Sitting down, phone away, no pausing to look things up. The gap between "I know this" and "I can produce this in a room with a clock running" is the entire game, and the only way to close it is to rehearse the second thing, not the first.

Where to actually practice
Reading about an exam and rehearsing for one are different activities, and only the second one moves the needle. Being nervous isn't evidence that you're unprepared — it's usually evidence that you care about the result. If it's genuinely keeping you from working, read how hard the exam really is and what happens if you don't pass the first time. Neither one is as final as it feels at 11 p.m.
