One-on-one RDA state board prep: an hour that settles your nerves

Group review is great โ€” but sometimes what you really need is an hour with someone who knows the material cold, focused only on the parts that scare you. That's exactly what our new private prep sessions are for.

Every cohort we graduate has the same last-week ritual: reviews, games, practice questions, and a room full of nervous energy. And in every class there's someone who quietly says afterward, "I get it in class, but I wish I could just sit down with somebody and go over my stuff." Starting today, you can.

Premier Dental Academy of Longview now offers private, 60-minute state board prep sessions โ€” one-on-one, built entirely around your weak areas. You can book with Amanda Williams, the academy's owner, for $100, or with one of our teaching instructors, Alexis Griffin or Emelia Barron, for $75. In person at the Longview campus, or by phone/video from anywhere in Texas.

Who these sessions are for

What actually happens in the hour

You tell us what's making you nervous, and that becomes the agenda. A typical session looks like this: a quick diagnostic conversation to find the real gaps, then live practice questions worked out loud โ€” original questions in the style of the exam, not copied from any protected test bank โ€” then teaching on the reasoning behind the answers you missed, and finally a short written plan for your remaining study days.

If you meet in person, you're in a training space set up like a working dental office, so instrument and equipment questions can be answered with the real thing in your hands. Remote sessions work great for the knowledge-heavy areas.

One honest note, because we always give you one: this is an educational review session. It isn't the official state exam, nobody can promise you a passing score, and Texas RDA registration itself runs through the TSBDE's requirements. What a good prep hour does is make sure you walk in knowing what you know.

How to get the most out of it

  1. Take a practice run first. Our free practice exam or the full RDA Exam Pro mock board ($29) will show you exactly which areas to bring to your session.
  2. Bring your list. The questions you keep missing, the topics you avoid โ€” that list is the whole agenda.
  3. Book it 1โ€“2 weeks before your exam date. Close enough that it's fresh, far enough that you can act on the plan.

Booking takes two minutes

Pick your session on the State Board Prep page, pay securely through Square, and we'll text you from (903) 913-6444 within one business day to set your time. Need to reschedule? Tell us 24 hours ahead and we'll move you at no charge.

Whatever route you take, the goal is the same one we have for every student who walks through our doors: you, on exam day, calm โ€” because you did the work and somebody made sure of it with you.
